7 Days To Die Blood Moon Guide

7 Days to Die is a survival game developed by Telltale Games and The Fun Pimps. The game takes place in the aftermath of the third world war, which indeed went nuclear. Due to nuclear warheads being used on a large scale, the few humans that survived got turned into mindless zombies.

The game takes place in the fictional country of Navezgane, Arizona. There also are randomly generated maps that you can play on. Regardless of which map you play in, you will find the same monsters roaming around on the map, hunting their next target, which may be you!

The game quickly rose to prominence because of its unique and exciting outlook on how a survival horror game should be. 7 Days to die isn’t your regular old zombie shooter; it has many special features that make it stand out, for example, the crafting feature, which partly makes the game a sandbox RPG.

There also are certain events in the game that get triggered occasionally depending upon the in-game conditions. Depending upon the event, the threat posed to your life will vary, but you will have to adapt as fast as you can regardless of the situation.

Blood Moon Guide In 7D2D

One such event in the game is the blood moon which spawns waves of zombies directly in your vicinity. If you want to come out of this event alive, then follow this guide! As new players don’t have much experience in the game, it becomes tough to survive.

What Is A Blood Moon?

In 7 days to die, on every 7th day, or at the end of every week, a blood moon will appear in the sky. The blood moon is a red version of the moon. The blood moon traces its origin back to many folktales in ancient China and Europe as well.

The game seems to take inspiration from this ancient superstition and turn it into an actual nightmare. On the night of the blood moon, the moon turns pinkish, and gruesome atrocities occur. Also, in the game, the moon just doesn’t turn red for vanity purposes.

When the blood moon rises, hordes of zombies will spawn around you and come for your life regardless of where you are. Sometimes they will come in waves, and sometimes only a single horde might come. Irrespective of the number, it is essential to prepare, or you’ll get wrecked!

Weaponry For Blood Moon

Not to mention when you’re first starting, you’ll almost have no luck at finding gun parts. 7 days to die has a wide variety when it comes to ammunition, but you’ll have to scavenge a lot to get decent weapons. So what should you do in such a situation?

For starters, scavenge the map for supplies; you’ll need enough food, medical supplies, and a lot of weapons if you need to get through this night. Weapons such as the bow and arrow can be crafted with readily available materials. Then again, these weapons don’t do a lot of damage, so always be on the lookout for gun parts.

Also, if you’re playing as a nomad without any set destination, you are vulnerable to this night. Without a fortified base, how do you expect to get through the night? These nasty zombies will eat your brains up without thinking twice.

So make sure you have enough supplies to fortify a house which we’ll use in the next part of the article, which covers the best tips and tricks for making the perfect fortified base that will help you kill and survive!

Creating A Fortress For Blood Moon

When creating a base, keep one thing in mind, though the zombies in the game are fast. Their tracking mechanics are decent; but they still are stupid creatures, so you can lure them into traps you’ve created. This will not only save your ammunition but also increase your chances of surviving.

First, look for a house on the map; any old house will do if it has at least 2 story place to stand on top. Such structures are abundant in the game, so before the 7th night, head over to a place like this and start bolstering the house from all the sides.

Spikes will play a considerable role in this operation; effectively place spikes in place all-around your house. Also, put spikes in an area where you can quickly shoot the zombie’s form when you’re on the top of the house or the second floor.

Inside the house, break all the stairs and make a hole underneath them and place spikes. When the zombies try to climb the stairs, they’ll fall into a pit of spikes. Do this at every stair in the house as we don’t know which side the zombies may come from.

Next up, fortify the door with whatever iron you have; this is optional, as this is only your 7th day in the game. To stop zombies from entering the house, make sure you also keep chairs at every door. For some reason, the zombies have a hard time getting through chairs. This will save you some time if things get worse.

The last thing you have to do is, get a minibike and decide an escape route. A window will be enough, which is in the clear. If the zombies overwhelm you, this window will help you make a run on the minibike, heal up and get back.

Strategy For Blood Moon

Now that the ammunition is ready, the base has been fortified, your escape route has been planned, and we can now get through the deadly blood moon with ease. The Blood Moon will start around 22:00 in-game time; you’ll hear a nasty scream from some direction which is the signal for the event to start.

Soon enough, you’ll see hordes of zombies running toward you. If you’ve placed enough spikes, you’ll get decent a decent amount of time to kill them, even with ab ow and arrow. The zombies will get stuck in the spikes and end up damaging themselves in the process.

If you see the zombies destroying one side of the base too much, head on to the other side, the good thing about zombies is that they are mindless, and you can lure them wherever you want. So just lure them towards the other side of the base and keep shooting.

Remember, some weird zombies might climb up, but you need to improvise in situations like this. In such close encounters, use a gun to get rid of the zombie quickly, this way, the weapon will not be too often, and you’ll also save some ammo!

If everything goes smoothly, wait for the waves to clear, and you will have survived your first blood moon. If not, jump out the exit that you’ve planned and make a run for it. Heal and then jump back into action.

The more blood moons you face, the better you’ll get at beating them. And as you progress in the game, the ammunition available at your disposal will also increase in power, so taking these nasty monsters out won’t be as difficult!
